Violinist Roger Chen, 19, has been a member of MTAC’s Young Artist Guild since 2023. Beginning his music journey at age of 5, his achievements include serving as co-principal second violin of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra during the 2022-2023 season and co-concertmaster during the 2023-2024 season, being awarded first places in both solo and chamber music competitions and participating in the Vivace International Music Festival for three consecutive years starting 2021. 
Roger has had the privilege of performing in master classes for various renowned musicians. In 2022 and 2024, Roger was also a member of Young Chamber Musicians, being part of the Leonidas String Quartet and the award-winning Moltrés String Quartet. This summer, he will be attending the Colorado College Music Festival and Bowdoin International Music Festival. 
Roger is currently a freshman at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studies under Ayano Ninomiya. His previous teachers include Ryan Chen, David Chernyavsky, and Eric Chin. In his free time, Roger enjoys drawing, playing tennis, playing video games, and cooking.
